[Freeswitch-users] FS 1.6 and certs

I am having a Kamailio terminate SIP/WSS and then just forward SIP/UDP with FS. I also have RTP/DTLS/UDP that passes through Kamailio/rtpproxy and terminates on FS and I do have the dtls certs (self signed) for them.  I currently have this setup with the 1.5.15b version and it works well.

I am trying to upgrade everything to 1.6 FS

Is it mandatory in FS1.6 to have certificates ? Or is it just saying that in case we use TLS then we need to have valid certs?
I don't really want to use TLS for my sip connections that are inside of a private network. I do have dtls termination though and have certs for them.
