We don't support virtualization beyond friendly advice.  We are tentative
to use it for audio and video is even more intensive and I don't have any
idea how it will perform.

mod_vlc can be used in place of mod_av but the low level code used to
record is probably the same codec libraries.
You can always try it by loading it in place of mod_av or by adding
{modname=mod_vlc} before the file when you specify the file path.
