SMS sending is fully dependent on your SMS provider.
Mine, for example, has an HTTP API which accepts the sender, recipient, and the message as URI parameters. Then I wrote a small Shell script, and execute it with the "system" application directly from FreeSWITCH dial plan.

Subject: [Freeswitch-users] SMS Gateway
In a LUA script, I'd like to send an SMS message, but I'd like to have the sender appear as my DID number.
This sounds like a FAQ, but I couldn't find the answer anywhere. Any help?
