This is possible since the beginning with the current method, no problem at
all. Check the wiki page (
http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Mod_skypopen_Skype_Endpoint_and_Trunk ).
Also the automatic installer gives you that possibility, and indeed is very
popular.

On the opposite, probably it would be not possible to have multiple
instance with the same skypename in the same Xserver.
