Depending on the impact on CPU and disk i/o anyway. Should be fine if you have multiple cores and don't do a parallel build. Or if its low usage eg office PBX.
You could also build once on one server and then distribute to all others using Debian .deb or CentOS RPM packages.
If in doubt for a clean build directory just delete/rename/backup the current one and do a new git clone without selecting a branch for checkout (default branch is master).
