You could try forcing it to use a different openssl from maybe 13x or debian7 or build the latest one yourself.
Not really sure.

For other readers sake:

We discovered that there are openssl errors in ubuntu 12.04 especially when running on vm that breaks webrtc.
I would not advise anyone using it.

Are there any ways to stay on Ubuntu 12.04 and workaround this?
