My pleasure but the output from the command I gave you basically tells 
you that you should install perl-devel since that seems to be missing:

$ yum provides "*/EXTERN.h"
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
4:perl-devel-5.10.1-119.el6_1.1.i686 : Header files for use in perl 
development

Filename    : /usr/lib/perl5/CORE/EXTERN.h

But if including perl-ExtUtils-Embed works for you then good for you :)
