[Freeswitch-users] Running FreeSWITCH on softmodem

As others have said, the problem with softmodems is nobody has been
motivated to produce drivers, even though it wouldn't be that hard in
most cases. I think it would be especially hard to get people motivated
to produce drivers for your ICH4 modem, as that's a pretty old chipset.
Intel have moved from AC97 to the high definition audio scheme since
then. I think that means any drivers for a modern chipset won't work for
yours, and the modern chipsets are seldom plumbed to a modem port. Its
all a bit of a dead end, really.
