Hi,

You can set codec for a phone from dialplan using absolute_codec_string
parameter as stated in codec negotiation link.

Trans-coding issues in case of G729 or G723 can be handled as:

Also, there is a configuration in internal and external profiles to define
a list of codec in each profile which can be set in global configuration

you can see SIP dialogues on each phone IP to verify which codec are being
offered

ngrep -q -Wbyline '' port 5060 and host x.x.x.x
