According to the IANA payload types:
http://www.iana.org/assignments/rtp-parameters
96-127 are dynamic. Anything is available to use them. The
"limitations" you are describing come from Audiocodes. In my
experience with a wide variety of endpoints 101 is fairly
typical/standard for RFC 2833.
