Perhaps you should post details of this if you would like help with the
transition.

Under Linux, at least, it's easy: just install Git, clone the repository and
build FreeSWITCH.

In my case, there were some local changes to package-related files that I
wanted to preserve. I placed these in a separate branch, which can be
periodically merged with the master branch.
