ok, i've upgraded to 10 licenses.

a single incoming call  "whatever codec" to "G.729b" with the example 
setup provided seems to use 3 licenses througout the call:

freeswitch at internal> g729_status
Permitted G.729AB channels: 10
Encoders in use: 1
Decoders in use: 3

whereas a outgoing call "G.729b" to "whatever codec" uses just one:

freeswitch at internal> g729_status
Permitted G.729AB channels: 10
Encoders in use: 1
Decoders in use: 1

i'm going to try to find the consumers in the debug log. :)
