Lack of support.  Nobody wanted to take over development of it.

Hi All,

I have only recently gotten into freeswitch being a asterisk guy for 5 years
give or take. I love the freeswitch XML way of doing things. My question is
why was mod_iax dropped? Is opal the replacement? On the Wiki is says its
beta?
