[Freeswitch-users] How to configure g729 pass though on Freeswitch

Frank,
sorry, I completely forgot one important detail:
in the default conf, G729 is not allowed on any SIP profiles, so you
have to modify vars.xml.
You will find the following lines:
<X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set"
data="global_codec_prefs=G7221 at 32000h,G7221 at 16000h,G722,PCMU,PCMA,GSM"/>
<X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="outbound_codec_prefs=PCMU,PCMA,G729"/>
For now, I recommend you replace them by:
<X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="global_codec_prefs=G729,PCMU,PCMA"/>
<X-PRE-PROCESS cmd="set" data="outbound_codec_prefs=G729,PCMU,PCMA"/>
Then in FS console, do:
sofia profile external restart reloadxml
sofia profile internal restart reloadxml
It should then work far better.
What we did there is to make G729 an accepted codec in inbound INVITEs
and a proposed codec for outbound INVITEs.
Look in external.xml or internal.xml, and look at the variables
inbound-codec-prefs and outbound-codec-prefs.
