If you're running in Linux then this is a handy way to build from scratch
using a somewhat automated process:
http://wiki.freeswitch.org/wiki/Quick_and_Dirty_Install

What's nice about being on latest SVN trunk is that you can do "make
current" and it will update your build for you.
