Rizwan,
I just wanted you to know that after your post on June 6 I went back and
re-read the getting started guide on the wiki. I did not realize that
the dialplan section was empty. I've populated it with what I hope is
some good information. Please check it out. In the meantime we are
still working on the documentation project and hopefully we'll have some
more fully-developed documentation in the next month or so.
Thanks,
MC

Subject: Re: [Freeswitch-users] Asterisk extensions
How do you know if i walked in off the street or not? maybe i have 2
years of experience working as a asterisk admin and also a little
experience in openser. maybe i started working on asterisk as a beginer
when i didnt even heard of asterisk and made my way upto here on my own.
If thats true then maybe the support for asterisk is very good and their
documentation makes a lot more sense and its simple to navigate through.
Maybe i did try to learn about FS but i did not like its documentation
and it did not make me read more....but im trying
I read in your documentation that FS's extensions are worked out before
the call. My question is how it does that and whats the point of doing
that? What happens internally in dialplan when a call comes in? I dont
have any problem with XML or regex.

We get a lot of people who like to walk in off the street and expect
that they can comprehend a complex application without any prior
knowledge of telephony and that some magic document should exist to make
you suddenly more intelligent. We will be glad to help you unless you
continue to complain before actually doing some leg work and learning
how the software works. This application is perhaps to complex for you
to understand. So it's up to you. Be nice and get help or complain
more.......

Not sure how unclear the documentation is. This getting started guide
is the best place to get started

The default config coming out of the box is setup to be a PBX with
various things already setup for you. In addition if you're having
problems understanding things you can join the IRC list or even ask
specific questions here on the mailing list. Someone will tend to
your request and assist you in understanding the concepts.
Thanks,
