Then don't ship it with the binary (don't put it in SVN)! Let the user
download it. Isn't it the same situation with G.729?

Jan,
You apparently don't understand the GPL from that statement. If
we ship anything that is GPL in binary or source it will convert our ENTIRE
project to GPL. That is the viral nature of the GPL which is the main issue.

hi,
Steve do provide the stack as a library, so this is mostly a challenge for
FreeSwitch to find a solution to use GPL code. It is fully possible for
FreeSwitch to do so without violating any of the licenses. You simply use it
as a binary module - various schemes are possible.

us already giving us G722 and various other things.

Steve won't do this because we aren't GPL. He has a stack but its not
license compatible.

hi,
MFC/R2 is a signaling form on the 'CAS tree' of a PRI - in this case mostly
E1. The equivalent T1 is CAS/R1. Both are actually far more in use than you
would expect, and we can start with the US, South America and Asia where
various forms still are heavily used.
As for implementing a MFC/R2 stack on FreeSwitch I would consult with Steve
because there are few around with the skills and interest to work on this -
and this signaling form has a very complex story when it comes to the issue
of variants.

Do you happen to know of an open source libmfcr2 that is license
compatible with FreeSWITCH?
