Code that wraps to the next line can be confusing to read.
I don’t understand what you are trying to accomplish. Please explain.

This was added to recent confluence version (3.2 I think), and there's improvements in > 4.0.

Perhaps a Panel would be a better control?
Or even a Column nested inside a Section? A Confluence column can be specified to a percentage width or a pixel width and automatically wrap.

Can you check if the code macro is configured to do wordwrap by default?
I don't have the right permissions to do it, you can check this on the plugin configuration.
