This will probably become the norm...

The US government isn't going to make travel any easier anytime soon.
Eventually people just won't want to deal with the visa hassles, "security",
fingerprinting, etc and they'll just organize events outside the US.

Actually I think you might be surprised. Many people from Europe/Asia/middle
east that don't bother with US due to distance would come. We actually
should look into arranging something yearly in EMEA.

Middle East/Africa actually is interesting business area these days.
