[Freeswitch-dev] Aborting playing of audio

I was wondering if there is a way to abort the playback of an audio file on
an external event?

 

e.g. if a background thread was used to perform some long running
calculation or remote data lookup, once the data was returned, is there a
way I can abort the playback of a file currently being played?
